John Hardy: making ideas happen

John Hardy visioned and originally developed Green Village as he and his wife Cynthia Hardy were building Green School.

John is renown for having unconventional ideas and making them happen.

After graduating from the Ontario College of Art & Design, John set off to travel the world and settled in Bali.  In 1975, he started a small jewelry business that grew into an international company which still bears his name.

In 2007, John left the company to dedicate his time to advocating for and building a more sustainable world through education and design.  His first major project was Green School, followed closely by Green Village, where he collaborated with his daughter, Elora Hardy, and her firm IBUKU, to set the vision and design for a truly unique development.
